This selection was chosen to illustrate "where I was" when I applied to enter the CCT Program. At this point I had taken Critical Thinking inthe summer and on the basis of that experience, decided that I wanted to spend my sabbatical year in Boston undertaking full-time study for the Graduate Certificate. It is interesting to recall that before I came out to UMass Boston in the summer, I was still considering my options and had not at that point committed myself to applying to the Program. This Statement of Interest and Intent is part of the formal application materials that I submitted and it presages the directions and interests I would develop during my years in CCT. In hindsight it shows that my interest in critical thinking and library research has remained remarkably durable during the years I have spent in the Program.
