The Synthesis course is the penultimate course in the CCT Program. It is the culmination of two years of work that can take any one of several forms -- the standard research paper, curriculum unit, web site, multimedia project, etc. I chose the hybrid Practitioner's Narrative with a curriculum unit. My final synthesis paper relates my progress through CCT and shows that the process was not linear. I found that the interests I developed through my elective courses (centered around issues in science, technology and society) came to intrigue me as much as my original topic of creating curriculum to implement critical thinking and problem-based learning. Happily, I was able to accommodate both in my final synthesis project.
